Photographs: I dabble. I aim and shoot….when I am not writing

As you know I love to take photos and quite often they are visual notes for my writing.

Taken at Beaulieu

But, I also take photos as reminders of places I’ve visited and experiences I’ve had.

Some I use to illustrate my blog and others are just filed away for me and family to look at now and again.

I always take far too many.

Thanks goodness for the digital age.

If I had to take photos on film and have them developed, I’d think twice before shooting a couple of hundred at a time.

These are not in any particular order or even taken at the same time or place, but here goes – let me know what you think.

Oh, and my camera isn’t fancy,  often just my phone camera.

I just aim and shoot.

These photos are all taken by me during various visits to places of interest, or  on my various walks.

Several visitors here tell me they love my photos which is so kind of them.

They tell me they love the little snippets of history or points of interest that go with each photo.

I must say, I enjoy posting them too.

I thought I’d take a break from writing today, to share some photos. No snippets today, I’m in a visual mood.

I’ve visited Wakehurst Place twice now and simply adore it.

I blogged about one such visit a while back.

You can see more photos and read all about it at http://wp.me/p2dg55-Z0

My visit to Canterbury Cathedral where I visited the tomb of a distant relation, a former Arch-bishop of Canterbury, can be found at http://wp.me/p2dg55-1sO

There are two parts, this is the link to part one.

My visit to Cowdray Park (one time palace) was wonderful too.

So much history and Midhurst was just so pretty.

I’ve written more and posted photos at http://wp.me/p2dg55-28O

Beaulieu House has the most amazing  motor museum as well as wonderful gardens and ruins, not to mention the house itself.

I am yet to blog about my visit there.

I have not posted photos of animals before.

I don’t have any but friends owned the Alaskan Malamutes pictured, who are sadly no longer with us.

They were ancient.

Molly, Lola and Simba belong to a relative.

I do hope you have fun looking at these and taking a peep at my blog posts. Let me know.

    • Diane, thanks so much, appreciated. I use photos for visual notes. There’s nothing like walking trough a wood, seeing a strange mound and then all sorts of ideas for clandestine burials pop into my mind for a story. Thanks for dropping in. Much appreciated. 🙂

    • My phone (the one I have now) is supposed to be better than my previous one, but it is not. I like to use my camera, a Canon or Nikon but they are getting old now and not reliable. So I am stuck with my phone for now. I loved your photos of you holiday recently. Fab. Great to see you drop in here. Appreciated. 🙂

    • I am so pleased Michelle that you approve of them. Not the best camera or person holding it, but I like to take them nevertheless. I have so many files of photos I often wonder what’ll happen to them when I am gone, will anyone like or treasure them too…so many of family which, now we don’t have albums in the ‘real’ world, might never ever get seen. Thanks so much for dropping in. I enjoy your blog a great deal.So interesting and happy. 🙂

  11. Margot I keep being asked about photos so I thought I’d add a few. I have thousands. Bit of an addict really. I am preparing a blog, some writing needs doing and also some other things, and it helps me think messing around. Distraction therapy. Plus it is so hot out. We don’t have AC here. I miss it. When is your book coming out? Do let me know so we can schedule another post on here for you and all the details – just let me know when and I shall make sure there is a slot for you. I am so excited for you. How wonderful. We can make a big splash when you are ready. Remind me if you think I have forgotten to remind you…or some such. LOL. Have the best week….:) xx
